News Release Evansville Cocaine Dealer Sentenced 25 Years in Federal Prison SEP 17 -- (Evansville, IN) – Dimitrai Cabell, 29 of Evansville, Indiana has been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard L. Young to 25 years in federal prison. Cabell’s guilty plea to possession of cocaine base with intent to distribute and his sentencing is the result of a joint investigation by the DEA, FBI, ATF, and the Evansville Police Department. The five month investigation revealed that Cabell was a mid-level crack cocaine dealer for a cocaine trafficking organization which distributed approximately four kilograms of crack cocaine in the Evansville area from May, 2007 through August, 2007. Cabell distributed crack cocaine from his residence, located on North Linwood Street. “The addictive nature and menace of crack cocaine is the same no matter what zip code you live in,” stated Gary G. Olenkiewicz, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA’s Chicago Field Division which covers Evansville, Indiana. “The team effort of law enforcement in Evansville which resulted in Mr. Cabell’s sentencing is a statement to our communities that all neighborhoods should be drug free for our children.” The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Bradley Blackington. According to Blackington, Judge Young also imposed 10 years supervised release following Cabell’s release from imprisonment. During the period of supervised release, Cabell will be subjected to random urinalysis and random searches of his person, vehicle, and residence. |
