DEC 17 - PADUCAH, KY - United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that on December 16, 2009, Charles Trent Willett, age 35 of Mayfield, Kentucky, was sentenced to 5 years and 10 months imprisonment, and Kevin Wayne Sawyer, age 51 also of Mayfield, Kentucky, was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months imprisonment in United States District Court, for distribution of methamphetamine. U.S. District Chief Judge Thomas B. Russell also sentenced Willett and Sawyer to 3 years supervised release following imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.

On August 25, 2009, Trent Willett, President of the Fulton, Kentucky Chapter of Hells Angels, and Kevin Sawyer, the owner of a Graves County motorcycle shop pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine in the Western District of Kentucky. Specifically, Willett admitted that on four different occasions between July 12, 2007, and October 25, 2007, he sold more than fifty grams of methamphetamine to a person working undercover for the Kentucky State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Sawyer admitted selling more than five grams of methamphetamine to the same person on July 24, 2007. Willett and Sawyer sold the methamphetamine from the motorcycle shop Sawyer owns in Graves County.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Terry Cushing and Michele Thielhorn, and it was investigated by the DEA and the Kentucky State Police.
