25th-Annual IDEC to be held in Spain
80 Countries will attend the three-day event in Madrid
APR 4 -- (Washington, D.C.) – On May 8-11, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in cooperation with the Secretary of State for Security-Minister of Interior will preside over the 25th - annual International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC), which will bring together over 300 high-level drug law enforcement officials from 80 countries throughout the Western Hemisphere. This year’s conference will focus on the following subjects: Following the Money Trail; Internet and Drug Trafficking; Africa’s Emergence in Drug Trafficking; Drug Flow Attack Strategies; and Intelligence Sharing.
IDEC was established in 1983 and to date 15 different countries have welcomed leaders to the event. This will be Spain’s first time as host of IDEC, and it will also be the first time the forum will be taking place beyond the Western Hemisphere.
