DEA Busts Drug Organization with Vietnamese, Australian
and Canadian Operations
DEC 13 -- DEA Los Angeles today announced the culmination of Operation Ramen Noodle, which resulted in the indictment of 10 members of a methamphetamine and ecstasy trafficking organization that did business in Vietnam, Australia and Canada. Timothy L. Landrum, DEA Special Agent in Charge, today announced the indictments following an 18-month investigation. Operation Ramen Noodle was a DEA-led multi-agency Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation that successfully identified members of a high volume narcotics distribution ring operating throughout Southern California, Canada, Australia, and Vietnam.

The investigation to date has resulted in the seizure of:
- 55,000 pills of MDMA
- 18 pounds of methamphetamine
- in excess of 2,000,000.00 US Currency
The indictment, which was returned on December 5, 2007, charged Minh Tan LE in Vancouver, Canada, Truong Lam NGO in Sydney, Australia and Thai DO, Luan NGUYEN, Huy NGUYEN, Trang NGUYEN, Joshua Lee CLARK, Marco Antonio GARCIA and JINFA WANG in Orange County, California with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, MDMA, and/or marijuana plants, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 846. Defendants are also charged with conspiracy to money launder, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1956.
Today’s operation is the result of a joint investigation being worked in conjunction with the RCMP, Australian Federal Police, FBI, Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation, Fountain Valley Police Department, Los Angeles Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force.
