Narcotics Investigation Results in Arrest of 10 Suspects, The Seizure of Cocaine, Weapons and Cash

FEB 23 -- (Ocean County) Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Division John P. Gilbride and Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford announced yesterday the arrest of several individuals as a result of a cooperative investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group along with federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies. The investigation, identified as “Divine Intervention” culminated early Saturday morning with the execution of eight search warrants in Ocean County as well as a search warrant in Brooklyn New York resulting in the arrest of 10 area men and women on various drug charges.

The four-month long investigation involved the following agencies, in addition to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operations Group:

This investigation established probable cause to obtain search warrants, which were executed at homes located in Lakewood, Berkeley Township, Beachwood, Lacey Township and Brooklyn New York. As a result of the execution of the search warrants law enforcement authorities confiscated approximately 700 grams of cocaine; three handguns a shotgun, and approximately $ 15,000 in cash. Drug paraphernalia, including packaging and distribution materials for cocaine, were also seized in the raids. The seized cocaine has an approximate street value of $70,000.

Search Warrants were executed at the following locations during the early morning hours of Saturday February 20, 2010:

The residence of Daniel Rogers AKA “Divine” 282 F Cedar Bridge Avenue Lakewood NJ

416 Ocean Avenue Apt. 48, Brooklyn NY a residence identified through this investigation as a residence utilized by Daniel Rogers AKA “Divine” to facilitate his drug distribution activities.

731 Marlin Avenue, Lakewood NJ a residence identified through this investigation as a residence utilized by Daniel Rogers AKA “Divine” to store cocaine and other paraphernalia used in his drug distribution activities.

The residence of Barbara Bellavista 10 Cathedral Drive Lakewood NJ

The residence of Kyle Alper 312 Sinclair Avenue, Lanoka Harbor NJ

The residence of Elex Hyman 1570 Alamitos Drive, Lakewood NJ

The residence of Marcos Felix AKA “I-U” 217 Pine Acre Blvd. Lakewood NJ

The residence of Travell Nickey AKA “Jump Off” 1500 Windward Avenue Beachwood NJ

21 2 nd Avenue, Berkeley Township NJ a residence identified through this investigation as a point of drug distribution by a Dwayne Banks AKA “Champ”.

As a result of this investigation two vehicles were identified as being utilized by Daniel Rogers to facilitate his drug distribution activities. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operation Group and members of the above referenced police departments also executed search warrants on the following vehicles.

A black Jeep Cherokee Laredo in the possession of Daniel Rogers and a Black Chevrolet Impala also identified as being utilized by Rogers in his drug distribution activities. The Jeep Laredo found to contain a quantity of cocaine was located at 282 Cedar Bridge Avenue Lakewood NJ at the time of the execution of the search warrant.

The black Chevrolet Impala, which was located at 731 Marlin Avenue, Lakewood NJ at the time of the search warrant, was also found to contain a quantity of cocaine and a digital scale.

During the course of this investigation an apartment at 416 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn NY was identified as a location utilized by Daniel Rogers AKA “Divine” to facilitate his drug distribution activities. As a result, members of the Drug Enforcement Administration New York Field Division executed a search warrant on behalf of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group at 416 Ocean Avenue Apt. 48 Brooklyn NY. As a result approximately two-ounces of cocaine, some of which was packaged for re-sale, three handguns, a shotgun, masks, shackles/handcuffs, ropes, scales and packaging materials were seized. Authorities in New York are reviewing the evidence.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operation Group and the above referenced police departments arrested the following individuals:

Daniel Rogers AKA “Divine” age 43 282 F Cedar Bridge Avenue Lakewood NJ and 416 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn NY: Conspiracy to distribute over one half ounce of cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine over five ounces with intent to distribute. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Daniel Rogers bail at $100,000 cash for the conspiracy charge and $250,000 cash bail for the possession and possession with Intent to distribute charges.

Elex Hyman age 39 1570 Alimitos Drive, Lakewood NJ: Conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine over one half ounce with intent to distribute. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Elex Hymans bail at $100,000 cash for the conspiracy charge and $150,000 cash bail for the possession and possession with Intent to distribute charges.

Marcos Felix age 36 217 Pine Acres Blvd. Lakewood NJ: Possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Marcos Felix’s bail at $75,000 no ten percent.

Latifa Green age 24 512 Massachusetts Avenue Lakewood NJ who was located inside 217 Pine Acres Blvd at the time of the search warrant execution was charged with Possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute. Ms. Green was released on a summons for the listed charges.

Kyle Alper age 31 312 Sinclair Avenue, Lanoka Harbor NJ: Conspiracy to distribute over one half ounce of cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute and possession of under fifty grams of marijuana. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Kyle Alpers bail at $100,000 cash for the conspiracy charge and $50,000 cash bail for the possession and possession with Intent to distribute charges. Mr. Alper was given a summons for the marijuana charge.

Kelly C. Williams age 34 2200 Madison Avenue New York NY who was located inside 312 Sinclair Avenue Lanoka Harbor at the time of the search warrant execution was charged with Possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute. Ms. Williams was released on a summons for the listed charges.

Ami Telaj age 23 1500 Windward Avenue Beachwood NJ: Possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Ami Telaj’s bail at $25,000 with the ten percent option.

Dana Telaj age 21 1500 Windward Avenue Beachwood NJ: Possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute. Dana Telaj was released on a summons for the listed charges.

Taquan Pearson age 28 1500 Windward Avenue Beachwood NJ: Possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Taquan Pearson’s bail at $75,000 no ten percent.

Barbara Bellvista age 40 10 Cathedral Drive Lakewood NJ: Possession of marijuana under fifty grams and possession of a digital scale. Barbara Bellavista was released on a summons for the listed charges.

Charges are pending against the following individuals who have not yet been arrested:

Travell Nickey AKA “Jump Off” age 26 1500 Windward Avenue, Beachwood NJ: Conspiracy to distribute over one half ounce of cocaine. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Travell Nickey’s bail at $100,000 cash bail.

Dwayne Banks AKA “Champ” LKA: 21 2 nd Avenue Berkeley Township NJ age 21: Conspiracy to distribute over one half ounce of cocaine. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Dwayne Banks bail at $50,000 no ten percent.

Howard Allen AKA “Bones” age 32 Address: 97 Belmont Avenue, South Toms River NJ Conspiracy to distribute over one half ounce of cocaine. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson JSC set Howard Allen’s bail at $100,000 cash bail.

The success of this investigation is a direct result of the cooperation between the federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies that participated in this operation. This investigation is expected to make a major impact into the drug distribution activities in the Ocean County area. This investigation continues and additional arrests are expected.
