Federal Law Enforcement National Job Recruitment Initiative
(Houston, TX) Several Federal
law enforcement agencies are continuing recruitment initiatives for
the hiring of new employees across the nation.
These Federal agencies need you, partly due to retirements, but primarily
because of urgent security needs arising from nationwide terrorist threats.
Participating agencies from the Department of Justice include the DEA,
FBI, ATF, US Marshal’s Service, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons,
as well as from the Department of Homeland Security; U.S. Immigration
and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and U.S.
Secret Service, and from the IRS, U.S. Postal Service and others are
all seeking American citizens to join the ranks of Federal law enforcement
employees here in Texas and nationwide.
For the federal government to be effective and efficient it needs to
have the best and brightest employees who want to serve their country
and who are willing to share their knowledge, skills and abilities for
the betterment of the nation. The WorkSource, a non-profit organization,
and North Harris College is partnering with these agencies to help coordinate
a special career fair scheduled for Friday, August 27, 2004, at North
Harris College campus located at 2700 W. W. Thorne Drive, Houston, Texas
77073, from 10 am – 3 pm. Providing security for the American people
is a demanding responsibility, U.S. law enforcement agencies cannot risk
being understaffed as they work to prevent tragedies like those of September
11, 2001.
Without question there are many qualified individuals in the Gulf Coast
region who may be interested in a rewarding law enforcement career with
the federal government. If you cannot attend this special event, a good
place to learn more about opportunities for federal jobs, please visit
USAJOBS at www.usajobs.gov or contact Special Agent Jose Gonzalez,
Recruiting Coordinator with the Houston Division of the Drug Enforcement
Administration @ 713.693.3141. The U.S. government agencies are equal
opportunity employers.
