New York Field Division and Syracuse University Host Ecstasy and Predatory Club Drugs Informational Seminar 'OPERATION X-OUT"
OCT 20--The Drug Enforcement Administration's New York Field Division, in conjunction with Syracuse University, will host it's third "Operation X-Out", Ecstasy and Predatory Club Drug Informational Seminar at Syracuse University on Thursday, October 23, 2003 from 7:00PM -9:00PM at Syracuse University's Goldstein Auditorium, Syracuse New York. Operation X-Out is a national campaign led by the Drug Enforcement Administration designed to bring public attention to the threats posed by the proliferation of Ecstasy and Predatory Club drugs. Events around the nation have been organized by the DEA in conjunction with local partnerships from the fields of education, public administration, business, civic leaders and local law enforcement.
The Drug Enforcement Administration will give an overview, identifying the drugs in question, their origins of manufacture, prevalent smuggling routes and target customer base. Medical implications of the use and abuse of these drugs will be given by Dr. Ronald Dougherty, Director of Medical Services at Tully Hill and Pelion. Anthony Adornato, Correspondent, WSTM, Channel 3, will host an open forum panel discussion with audience participation following the presentations. Representatives from law enforcement, the United States Attorney's Office, Northern District of New York, Onondaga County Executive's Office, Syracuse University,and former drug users/victims will share their stories.
