Federal Charges Filed Against Dixie County Man for Trafficking Methamphetamine
GAINESVILLE, FLA. – Ronald Carl Peavy II, 49, of Old Town, Fla., has been indicted in federal court for possessing with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida announced the charge.
Peavy is scheduled for arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Midori A. Lowry at the United States Courthouse in Gainesville on July 1, 2025.
If convicted, Peavy faces up to life imprisonment.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Dixie County Sheriff’s Office. It is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Florida.
An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt.
