Are you interested in a career in law enforcement or with the government? The DEA Philadelphia Field Division is seeking highly motivated students for a 10-12 week student volunteer program. Interns will be rotated through the Division's various groups to experience all the different kinds of opportunities a DEA Field Division has to offer.
Who is eligible to apply? A student must be in good standing academically, maintaining a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and receive no grade below average (C or equivalent) and eligible to continue as an enrolled student in their respective institutions. The student must be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited trade school, technical or vocational institute, junior college, college, university, or comparable accredited educational institution. A student may not be enrolled less than half-time. Students must be at least 16 years of age. Students must be able to pass the DEA-administered drug test for illegal drugs and background investigation. Students who have taken illegal substances in the last three years will not be eligible to participate in the program.
How do I apply? Interested applicants should send a resume, official transcript, and cover letter to the PhiladelphiaInternRecruitment@dea.gov mailbox.
What is the applicant process like? The intern program is highly competitive with many qualified applicants applying. The top applicants will be selected for an interview with a panel of DEA employees. Selected applicants will undergo a limited background investigation. Students will be required to submit security paperwork, take a DEA-administered drug test, and demonstrate good standing with the academic institution.
