Bob P. Beris
Bob P. Beris is the Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) San Francisco Field Division. Mr. Beris oversees all enforcement operations, drug diversion and regulatory investigations, and administrative operations throughout 49 of California’s 58 counties, encompassing the area from Bakersfield to the Oregon border.
Mr. Beris is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and upon graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Mr. Beris was employed as a Forensic Scientist with the Illinois State Police. In 2004, Mr. Beris began his career with the DEA and was assigned to the San Francisco Field Division, Bakersfield Resident Office where he focused on long-term, complex conspiracy investigations, dismantling drug trafficking organizations both domestically and abroad.
In 2014, Mr. Beris was promoted to Group Supervisor where he established and supervised the first DEA Task Force Group in Bakersfield, California. In 2016, he was promoted to Resident Agent in Charge of the Bakersfield Resident Office, where he oversaw all DEA activities in Kern and Inyo Counties. In 2019, Mr. Beris was assigned as an Inspector to the DEA Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), at DEA Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia where he investigated misconduct allegations against DEA employees, Mr. Beris then transferred to the OPR Western Field Office in Los Angeles, California, where he handled DEA internal investigations covering the Western United States, Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.
In June 2021, Mr. Beris was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge in the San Francisco Field Division, Sacramento District Office, where he oversaw all enforcement operations in 27 California counties while supervising offices in Sacramento and Stockton, including an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Strike Force. Mr. Beris held this position until his appointment in October 2024 to the Special Agent in Charge of the DEA San Francisco Field Division.
