Intro to FRS:
Fentanyl-Related Substances (FRS) are a deadly cocktail of synthetic drugs, laced with potentially fatal doses of fentanyl. Whether in pill or powder, even the tiniest amount of FRS is deadly.
Fentanyl-related substances are controlled in schedule I of the CSA. Public Law 118-158 extended schedule I status of fentanyl-related substances to March 31, 2025. On December 30, 2024 (89 FR 106384), a notice of proposed rulemaking was published for seven fentanyl-related substances, proposing the permanent placement of these substances under the CSA.
