2003 National Police Week
During the month of May, the 2003 National Police Week was held in Washington, DC and the DEA Memorial Service was held in Arlington, VA. The Washington Division Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration supports both of these services which commemorates those who served and lost there lives, for the betterment of all of society. The 2003 National Police Week activities attended by DEA personnel included the 9th Annual Blue Mass, held at St. Patrick's Church; the 15th Annual Candlelight Vigil, held at the Memorial; the 8th Annual Emerald Society & Pipe Band March and Service, held at the Memorial, in Washington, DC and the DEA Headquarters, in Arlington, VA.
Those officials attending either the 2003 National Police Week or the DEA Memorial Service included Ms. Karen Tandy, Deputy Associate Attorney General of the United States; Mr. John P. Walters, Director, White House Office on National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP); Mr. William B. Simpkins, Acting Administrator, Drug Enforcement Administration; Mr. RC Gamble, the Special Agent-in-Charge of the Washington Division Office for the Drug Enforcement Administration; Ms. Ava Cooper-Davis, the Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge of the Washington Division Office; Mr. Thomas Harrington, Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge of the Washington Division Office; and Mr. Kevin Foley, Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge of the Washington Division Office.
