New York Man Sentenced To 4 Years For Trafficking Oxycodone
PORTLAND, Maine - John J. Arvanitis, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced today that Michael Falu - , 25, of New York, New York, was sentenced on September 3, 2013, in U.S. District Court in Portland by Judge Nancy Torresen to four years in prison for conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute oxycodone and for possessing with intent to distribute oxycodone. Falu - pled guilty to the charges in May 2013.
According to court records, in November 2012, Falu - was arrested in Portland after he arrived on a Concord Trailways bus and was found to have 386 15mg and 863 30mg oxycodone pills in his boxer shorts.
United States Attorney Delahanty said that the success of this case is based on the cooperative investigative efforts of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Augusta Police Department.
