DEA St. Louis Launches Dance Team In Ferguson, Missouri
ST. LOUIS - -The Karlovsky and Company Dance performed at the Ferguson Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis as a kick-off to the DEA Youth Dance Program that will be providing free 20-week dance classes at three locations in the Greater St. Louis area.
The Karlovsky and Company Dance approach to choreography is explorative and inventive and is geared towards tapping into the complexities of the human spirit. The Company is comprised of accomplished performers, choreographers and teachers dedicated to the art of contemporary modern dance.
The DEA Educational Foundation Youth Dance (DEA EFYDP) was established to empower kids with a free, positive, and appealing afterschool alternative to drugs through the fun, healthy, and expressive art form of dance.
The dance program curriculum incorporates the DEA Educational Foundation’s anti-drug messages and themes, such as participating in positive alternatives to drugs and gang violence, building self-esteem, teamwork, resisting negative peer pressure, and focus on maintaining positive health and attitude.
The other locations in St. Louis will be at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis, Southeast Location, and at Fort Zumwalt Middle School in O’Fallon, Missouri.
