DEA Announces 42,426 Pounds Of Prescription Drugs Collected During Take-Back Event
PHILADELPHIA - Special Agent in Charge Gary Tuggle of the Drug Enforcement Administration’(DEA) Philadelphia Division announced today that 42,426 pounds of prescription drugs were collected across Pennsylvania and Delaware by the DEA and its partners during the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day event this past Saturday, October 28th.
A specific breakdown of amounts collected by regions across Pennsylvania, where a total of 36,909 pounds was collected, and Delaware, where a total of 5,517 pounds was collected, is listed below:
Allentown, PA: 1,674 lbs.
Dover, DE: 2,217 lbs.
Harrisburg, PA: 3,859 lbs.
Philadelphia, PA: 20,460 lbs.
Pittsburgh, PA: 9,392 lbs.
Scranton, PA: 1,524 lbs.
Wilmington, DE: 3,300 lbs.
Amounts collected by the counties across the Philadelphia region, which are totaled above, are listed as follows:
Bucks County: 10,126 lbs.
Chester County: 1,643 lbs.
Delaware County: 458 lbs.
Montgomery County: 7,789 lbs.
Philadelphia County: 444 lbs.
