Opioid enforcement action brings multiple charges across the Middle District of Florida
TAMPA, Fla. - A significant opioid enforcement operation across the Middle District of Florida was executed involving charges against five individuals for their alleged involvement in various conspiracies to illicitly obtain and distribute oxycodone and other controlled substances.
Those charged are the following:
United States v. Hong Truong
Hong Truong (54, Dunedin) is charged in a 16-count indictment with conspiracy to unlawfully distribute and dispense Schedule II controlled substances, unlawful distribution and dispensing of Schedule II controlled substances, and using a place for unlawful drug distribution of the Schedule II controlled substances oxycodone 30 mg and hydromorphone 8mg in return for cash. According to the indictment, Truong is a licensed pharmacist who owned and operated HP Pharmacy in Pinellas Park. From May 2015 through August 2016, Truong used her pharmacy to distribute and dispense Schedule II controlled substance prescriptions outside the scope of usual professional practice and for no legitimate medical purpose. She faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison on each of the counts.
United States v. Jessica Evans
Jessica Evans (34, St. Petersburg) is charged by Information with conspiracy to unlawfully distribute and dispense the Schedule II controlled substances oxycodone, methadone, and hydromorphone using forged and fraudulent prescriptions. Evans worked as a pharmacy technician at HP Pharmacy. She faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
United States v. Lucretia Mullan
Lucretia Mullan (34, St. Petersburg) is charged by Information with conspiracy to unlawfully distribute and dispense the Schedule II controlled substances oxycodone, methadone, and hydromorphone using forged and fraudulent prescriptions. Mullan was employed as a medical assistant at a pain management clinic where she generated the fraudulent opiate prescriptions. She faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
United States v. Robin Lloyd
Robin Lloyd (37, St. Petersburg) is charged by Information with conspiracy to unlawfully distribute and dispense the Schedule II controlled substances oxycodone, methadone, and hydromorphone using forged and fraudulent prescriptions. Lloyd was employed as a medical assistant at a pain management clinic where she generated the fraudulent opiate prescriptions. She faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
United States v. Patrice Jackson
Patrice Jackson (37, Bradenton) is charged by Information with conspiracy to unlawfully distribute the Schedule II controlled substances oxycodone, methadone, and hydromorphone using forged and fraudulent prescriptions. Jackson obtained the fraudulent opiate prescriptions from Mullan and Lloyd and then obtained the Schedule II controlled substances from Truong and Evans at HP Pharmacy for distribution. She faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
All these cases were investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration Orlando District Office and are being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.
