DEA announces 40,798 pounds of prescription drugs collected during DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
PHILADELPHIA -- Special Agent in Charge Jonathan A. Wilson of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Philadelphia Field Division announced today that 40,798.33 pounds of prescription drugs were collected across Pennsylvania and Delaware by the DEA and its partners during the Prescription Drug Take-Back Day event on October 26, 2019.
A specific breakdown of amounts collected by regions across Pennsylvania, where a total of 36,880.23 pounds was collected, and Delaware, where a total of 3,918.10 pounds was collected, is listed below:
Allentown, PA: 1,643.8 lbs.
Dover, DE: 1,801 lbs.
Harrisburg, PA: 3,049.52 lbs.
Philadelphia, PA: 20,917.02 lbs.
Pittsburgh, PA: 10,477 lbs.
Scranton, PA: 792.89 lbs.
Wilmington, DE: 2,117.1 lbs.
Amounts collected by the counties across the Philadelphia region, which are totaled above, are listed as follows:
Bucks County: 11,006.88 lbs.
Chester County: 1,261 lbs.
Delaware County: 460.4 lbs.
Montgomery County: 7,436.34 lbs.
Philadelphia County: 752.4 lbs.
