DEA Announces 40,373 Pounds of Prescription Drugs Collected
PHILADELPHIA - Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Jonathan A. Wilson of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Philadelphia Field Division announced today that approximately 40,373 pounds of prescription drugs were collected across Pennsylvania and Delaware by the DEA and its partners during the Prescription Drug Take-Back Day event on April 24, 2021.
A specific breakdown of amounts collected by regions across Pennsylvania, where a total of 35,206 pounds was collected, and Delaware, where a total of 5,167 pounds was collected, is listed below:
Allentown, PA: 2,663 lbs.
Dover, DE: 2,227 lbs.
Harrisburg, PA: 3,244 lbs.
Philadelphia, PA: 18,713 lbs.
Pittsburgh, PA: 9,689 lbs.
Scranton, PA: 896 lbs.
Wilmington, DE: 2,940 lbs.
Amounts collected by the counties across the Philadelphia region, which are totaled above, are listed as follows:
Bucks County: 9,943 lbs.
Chester County: 646 lbs.
Delaware County: 668 lbs.
Montgomery County: 7,252 lbs.
Philadelphia County: 204 lbs.
