Wisconsin Man Charged with Possessing Methamphetamine for Distribution
MADISON, Wis. – Special Agent in Charge Robert J. Bell, Drug Enforcement Administration-Chicago Field Division, and Acting U.S. Attorney Timothy M. O'Shea, Western District of Wisconsin announced that Adam Beliveau, 41, of Downing, Wisconsin, has been charged with 1 count of attempting to possess 500 grams or more of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and 1 count of possessing 500 grams or more of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
The indictment alleges that on Sept. 14, 2020, Beliveau attempted to possess 500 grams or more of methamphetamine for distribution and that on Nov. 3, 2020, he possessed 50 grams or more of methamphetamine for distribution.
If convicted, Beliveau faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison on each count. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration-Chicago Field Division and the West Central Drug Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Wegner is handling the prosecution.
A charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
