Armed Meth Dealer Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison
MOBILE, AL – A Mobile woman was sentenced to 180 months in prison for a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.
According to court documents, Desiree Rose Carlock, 33, was surveilled by narcotics agents in January 2024 traveling from Mobile to Pensacola, Florida, where she would purchase pounds of methamphetamine to bring back to Mobile and sell. On February 21, 2024, agents seized nearly a pound of methamphetamine and a loaded .380 caliber pistol from Carlock during a traffic stop. Carlock admitted to agents that she had just obtained the methamphetamine from a supplier in Pensacola. She confessed that she typically picked up methamphetamine in Pensacola twice a week and distributed the drugs to individuals in Mobile. Agents searched Carlock’s cell phone, which contained text messages, photos, videos, and other data regarding her drug-trafficking activities.
In April 2024, agents arrested Carlock in possession of methamphetamine on two occasions. First, during a traffic stop on April 2, 2024, agents seized 21 grams of methamphetamine from Carlock. Second, during a traffic stop on April 22, 2024, agents seized 349 grams of methamphetamine from Carlock.
In addition to the 180-month prison sentence, United States District Judge Kristi K. DuBose ordered Carlock to serve a five-year term of supervised release upon her release from prison, during which time she will be subject to drug testing and treatment. The court did not impose a fine, but Judge
DuBose ordered Carlock to pay $200 in special assessments and forfeited her firearm, ammunition, and cell phone to the United States.
U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama made the announcement.
The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. The Escambia County, Florida Sheriff’s Office substantially assisted the investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Roller prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
