SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Alfred A. Cooke, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Drug Enforcement Administration-Merrillville, Indiana, and U.S. Attorney Clifford D. Johnson for the Northern District of Indiana announced that Shaquille Delaney, 32, of South Bend, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Damon R. Leichty after pleading guilty to distribution of methamphetamine, announced U.S. Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.

Delaney was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

According to documents in the case, on numerous occasions between the summer of 2021 and January 2022, law enforcement purchased methamphetamine from Delaney. During the subsequent execution of a search warrant at his residence, law enforcement recovered methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, a .22 caliber rifle, cash, drug paraphernalia and a drug ledger. Delaney’s criminal history includes prior felony convictions for home invasion and delivery of controlled substances.

This case was investigated by the DEA with the assistance of Federal Bureau of Investigation GRIT, the Porter County Drug Task Force (PCMEG), the South Bend Police Department, and the Porter County Sheriff’s Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kimberly L. Schultz and Frank Schaffer.
