Lakeland Man Found Guilty Of Trafficking In Methamphetamine
TAMPA, Fla. - Mark R. Trouville, Special Agent in (SAC), Drug Enforcement (DEA), Miami Field Division and A. Lee Bentley III, Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, announced yesterday that a federal jury found Ricky (Lakeland) guilty of distribution of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment in federal prison. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 27, 2014. Muoio was indicted on May 1, 2013.
According to testimony and evidence presented at trial, on April 11, 2013, a confidential (CS) working with the DEA purchased two ounces of methamphetamine, for $3,000, from Muoio, at his Lakeland residence on Creekwood Run. On April 24, 2013, DEA agents executed a federal search warrant at Muoio’s residence. During the search in one of the bedrooms, agents discovered and seized approximately 1.5 ounces of methamphetamine. Agents also seized approximately $3,500 cash and a digital scale from the bedroom.
