Two men sentenced on Lake County heroin charge
OCALA, Fla. - Cesar Osiris DeLeon-Castillo, age 36, of Clermont, and Jefry Agustin Valerio-Perez, age 39, of Orlando, were sentenced to five years and four years and nine months in federal prison, respectively, for possession with the intent to distribute one kilogram of heroin. DeLeon-Castillo and Valerio-Perez pleaded guilty in June 2019.
According to court documents, DeLeon-Castillo and Valerio-Perez were arrested on March 14, 2019, in the parking lot outside a barber shop in Clermont, where DeLeon-Castillo had worked. At the time, the men were attempting to complete a drug transaction involving $56,000 in exchange for a kilogram of heroin that they had in their possession. DeLeon-Castillo and Valerio-Perez were taken into custody at the scene.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration with support from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. It was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.
