Administrator Leonhart’s Diversity Statement
The Drug Enforcement (DEA) is dedicated to promoting an inclusive work environment where the individual differences between us are understood, respected, and valued.
These differences include race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, marital or family status, and socioeconomic status.
Moreover, it is these very differences among us that enrich our work environment. Our diversity is our strength, and it enables us to excel as an agency. DEA is filled with employees from different backgrounds and cultures.
We’ve disrupted and destroyed powerful drug cartels, and have made endless communities across America safer. None of this could have been accomplished without a dedicated, talented, and diverse workforce.
DEA strives to achieve full inclusivity by proactively recruiting, hiring, developing, retaining, and promoting qualified people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We also strive to create opportunities for all of our employees to develop and realize their full potential, and to achieve their professional and personal goals.
I am committed to recognizing and developing the talents of our employees. Our human capital is the key to our success in ensuring that all Americans have the opportunity to live in safe communities free from the dangers and consequences of drugs.
