Gang And Drug Investigation Results In Seven Arrests
CHINO, Calif. - A two month gang related drug-trafficking investigation came to a successful conclusion afterofficers served four search warrants Wednesday, resulting in seven arrests.
The investigation, known as “Operation Checkmate,” began in July of this year through the collaborative efforts of the Chino Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration DEA) Southern California Drug Task Force. The operation targeted members and associates of the “Chino Sinners” street gang - who in cooperation with the Mexican Mafia prison gang - were actively involved in the sales of narcotics in the city of Chino and surrounding areas.
After identifying the suspects and obtaining the necessary evidence related to the drug ring, officers from DEA, Chino PD, Pomona PD, and Ontario PD served search warrants at four locations in the cities of Chino and Pomona. In addition to seven arrests for various charges, officers seized a vehicle, a handgun and ammunition, tens of thousands of dollars in cash, eight ounces of methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia.
The following subjects were arrested yesterday for the charges listed below; additional charges are pending.
- Hector Aranda - age 34 of Pomona: Conspiracy, possession for sales of narcotics, criminal street gang activity and gang enhancement
- Cesario Martinez - age 38 of Pomona: Conspiracy, possession for sales of narcotics, criminal street gang activity and gang enhancement
- Gina Naranjo-Martinez - age 25 of Pomona: Conspiracy and child endangerment
- Joey Perez - age 20 of Chino: Conspiracy, possession for sales of narcotics, criminal street gang activity and gang enhancement
- Michael Vasquez - age 54 of Chino: Conspiracy, possession for sales of narcotics, criminal street gang activity and gang enhancement
- Pete Vicario - age 57 of Chino: Parole violation warrant
- Wally Vicario - age 34 of Chino: Conspiracy, possession for sales of narcotics, criminal street gang activity and gang enhancement
All subjects were booked at the West Valley Detention Center. Three additional drug and gang related arrests linked to the ongoing investigation were made in the months leading up to this operation.
