DEA announces 39,615 pounds of prescription drugs collected during Take-Back Event
PHILADELPHIA -- Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Jon Wilson of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Philadelphia Field Division announced today that 39,615 pounds of prescription drugs were collected across Pennsylvania and Delaware by the DEA and its partners during the Prescription Drug Take-Back Day event on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018.
A specific breakdown of amounts collected by regions across Pennsylvania, where a total of 35,864 pounds was collected, and Delaware, where a total of 3,739 pounds was collected, is listed below:
Allentown, PA: 1,580 lbs.
Dover, DE: 1,724 lbs.
Harrisburg, PA: 4,050 lbs.
Philadelphia, PA: 20,462 lbs.
Pittsburgh, PA: 8,688 lbs.
Scranton, PA: 1,084 lbs.
Wilmington, DE: 2,015 lbs.
Federal Building: 12 lbs.
Amounts collected by the counties across the Philadelphia region, which are totaled above, are listed as follows:
Bucks County: 9,844 lbs.
Chester County: 936 lbs.
Delaware County: 232 lbs.
Montgomery County: 9.057 lbs.
Philadelphia County: 393 lbs.
