DEA 360 Maine and Partners Host Two Day Virtual Town Hall Summit
PORTLAND, ME – The New England Field Division’s (NEFD) DEA 360 Maine program has partnered with Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA), Somerset Public Health and Healthy Sebasticook Valley Drug Free Coalition to address some local concerns and facilitate discussions surrounding those topics. This FREE Virtual Adult Town Hall Summit will be held April 13th and 14th from 3:30pm – 5:00pm and is open to all parents, educators, community members and anyone who wishes to learn more about how to become more involved in constructing a healthy safer community.
This two day event will review:
- Substance Use, Mental Health & Co-Occurring Disorders among youth, especially during the pandemic.
- Hidden Connections between domestic violence and substance use.
- Substance use within sex trafficking and assault.
- Addressing pills to heroin epidemic from a prevention perspective.
The key note speaker is Dr. Wilson Compton, Deputy Director of National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) who will speak about marijuana use among youth and young adults, its effects and consequences and responsibilities as an adult on substance use.
