DEA Announces 34,150 Pounds of Prescription Drugs Collected During October 23 Take Back Event
PHILADELPHIA – Acting Special Agent in Charge Thomas Hodnett of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Philadelphia Field Division announced today that approximately 34,150 pounds of prescription drugs were collected across Pennsylvania and Delaware by the DEA and its partners during the Prescription Drug Take Back Day event on October 23, 2021.
A specific breakdown of amounts collected by regions across Pennsylvania, where a total of 30,408 pounds was collected, and Delaware, where a total of 3,742 pounds was collected, is listed below:
Allentown, PA: 1,365 lbs.
Dover, Del.: 2,100 lbs.
Harrisburg, Pa.: 2,859 lbs.
Philadelphia, Pa.: 19,176 lbs.
Pittsburgh, Pa.: 6,599 lbs.
Scranton, Pa.: 409 lbs.
Wilmington, Del.: 1,642 lbs.
Amounts collected by the counties across the Philadelphia region, which are totaled above, are listed as follows:
Bucks County: 9,374 lbs.
Chester County: 783 lbs.
Delaware County: 717 lbs.
Montgomery County: 5,739 lbs.
Philadelphia County: 2,561 lbs.
