Manchester Man Pleads Guilty to Fentanyl Distribution Charges
CONCORD, N.H. – A Manchester man pleaded guilty today in federal court to fentanyl and crack cocaine distribution charges, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announces.
Joseph Goffinet, Jr., 53, pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution of controlled substances in connection with the sale of fentanyl. U.S. District Court Judge Joseph Laplante scheduled sentencing for July 25, 2024.
According to the charging documents Goffinet, Jr. delivered fentanyl for sale to a confidential informant on three separate occasions.
These charges of distribution of a controlled substance provides for a sentence of up to 30 years in prison, at least 6 years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $2,000,000. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes which govern the determination of a sentence in a criminal case.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security led the investigation. Valuable assistance was provided by the Manchester Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Ward is prosecuting the case.
